Discount codes

Discount codes let you offer full or partial discounts to respondents who pay through your forms. 

Discount codes work on any form that has a Payment element. You can read more about setting up payments in our Payment element guide.

Creating a discount code

  1. Go to Admin Panel > Discount codes.

  2. Click Add discount code.

  3. On the Discount code info tab, configure the following:

    Code

    This is the name of the discount code that your clients can use.

    Discount type

    If you choose Percentage type, you will set a discount percentage. If you choose Fixed type, you will set a Discount amount which will be deducted from the total meeting charge when the discount code is redeemed.

    Expiry date:

    This can be used to create discount codes that expire after a certain date. If the value is left empty, the discount code will never expire.

    Maximum number of times this discount code can be used for:

    This number represents how many times a discount code can be used. Only submitted forms would be counted. If this value is left empty, the discount code can be used an infinite number of times.

    Example: I am starting a new business, and as a part of it, I need the first 10 customers to be able to use a discount code to get a 50% discount.

    Solution: So I create a discount code "FIRST10" with the discount type as "Percentage", and the value as "50". I will also add the value 10 to the "Maximum number of times this discount code can be used" so that the discount code expires after 10 clients have used the discount code.

  4. Switch to the Applied forms tab and select the forms where this code can be used. Use Select all to enable it everywhere at once.

  5. Click Save changes.

Enabling discount codes on a form

You can also manage which codes a specific form accepts from the form itself:

  1. Open the form and go to Settings > Discount codes.

  2. Select the discount codes that respondents can apply on this form.

  3. Click Save changes.

Use the Add/Manage discount codes button on this page to jump to the admin panel and create a new code if you don't have one yet.

Applying a discount code

When a respondent fills out a paid form:

  1. On the payment step, they enter the code in the Discount code field.

  2. Enter your code and click on the Apply button.

  3. The discounted and original amounts will be displayed (with the original amount struck out).

  4. They can click Remove to clear the code and start over.

Tracking redemptions and reports

Open any code from Admin Panel > Discount codes to review its usage across these tabs:

  • Discount code info — the code's type, value, expiry, and redemption limit.

  • Applied forms — the forms where the code can be used.

  • Redeems — every redemption, with the form, original amount, discount, amount paid, currency, and date.

  • Reports — per-form totals for redeems, discount given, and amount collected, which you can Export as a CSV.

The discount codes list also shows each code's status (Active or Expired) and how many times it has been redeemed.
